IMHO, this is probably a problem in your installation since I use the same
configuration on one machine without problem (except the libc version which
5.3.12).

If it can help I can send you a compiled version of the GMP library for your
machine.

gmp 2.0 and gmp 1.3 are not compatible. STk does not work (yet) with the new
version of gmp.
