Bug? in "fileselect"?

In fileselect.stk, there is the line:

(define file-exists? (lambda (f) (= 1 (file 'exists f))))

which, I think, is erroneous, in that there is no function "file", and
moreover, file-exists? is already a subr.

Am I missing something?
