Help on interfacing STk with C in Win95

I am using STk 3.99.4 under Win95 to build an application that reads a
page layout designed using a shape vocabulary (rectangles, elipses,
lines...) and analyses it in order to recognize the page layout elements
(scroll windows, button panels, text blocks, ...)

I need to make it interact with an application that recognizes the shapes
from handwritten sketches and was developed in Visual C++ under Win95. The
idea is that this application collects the user's shetches, recognizes
shapes and sends them to the application in STk that recognizes page
layout elements. The page layout elements should be returned back to the
first application in order to be displayed in the same window where the
sketches were done.

My questions can be summarized in: what is the best possible way to make
these two applications, one in STk and the other in C++, interact in
Win95?

I thought I could try to use FFI in Win95 or make the link using sockets.

Some sub questions are:
- is it possible at all in Win95? or is it better to port to Unix?
- will it be better to try using FFI (even if in the STk manual says it is
only working for some Unix's) or using sockets?
- DLL support is working in Win95?

or
- all these questions will be answered in release 4.0 and thus when will
it be released?

Thanks in advance for any ideas or suggestions.

P.S. Just to let you know: I have been using STk 3.99.4 in Win95 (with Tk)
and there were almost no crash :-)
