amib -- how many layers?

i have started playing with stk, and i happened to discover amib (A
Mini Interface Builder, that is) --- really nice, an helping hand with
the layout of complex arrangements, or should i say: moderately
complex arrangements?

it seems to me that amib deals with at most 3 layers of objects, i.e.,
i can drop a frame "C" in a frame "B" that was dropped in frame "A",
but when i try to drop frame "D" in frame "C", "D" is for disappears

is the above behaviour a design decision (i couldn't figure it out of
the source, shame on me) or am i doing something wrong?

i'm using amib 0.3 with stk 3.1.1 built on linux 2.0.18

thank you for your help
