Sorry - I tried it here, using STk-2.1.6, and could not get it to dump
core. (We run SunOS-5.4, but STk-2.1.6 was compiler for SunOS-5.3
using Sun's 3.0 C compiler.

Perhaps if you could send us a trace obtained from a core dump...

My first guess is that somehow the machine you're running on is
running out of virtual memory, though STk should at least tell you
about it before it dumps core... Certainly, after a quick glance
through the STk-2.1.6 code, I can't imagine what else could go wrong
in the code for get-internal-info...
