i also made Your experience.
Now i try to find out how to dump images and use them again with
elf. With a.out you only have to write and read all of the data segment
right (i have a version of dump which does not need to read itself to
find out the data_start, but still not working with linux-elf:-().
With elf this seems not to be enough (but i am not shure, maybe there is
still a typo somewhere ..), my elf-reread data image produces still
segmentation faults, when it reaches the first "longjmp" instruction
....
