I'm having troubles too from Austria (Europe - not so far away!). First
I downloaded 800 KB then 1.2 MB, before the transfer got stuck.

I'm doing a download from cs.nyu.edu:/pub/local/fox now, many times faster
than from kaolin.unice.fr and it did complete.
