memory consumption?

As in my experience tcl-scripts run a bit sloow, so that one has to go
in "C" for almost everything, i tried tkperl and stk.

Two questions:
1. speed: Are there results of benchmarks (tcl against stk)?
(ok, i could do it myself ...;-)
2. memory: (stk seems to use a __lot__ of memory?)

Here are two lines from "ps -xl" on my linux-box (an empty wish and
an empty stk, PID and TTY columns removed):

MAJFLT MINFLT TRS DRS SIZE SWAP RSS SHRD LIB DT COMMAND
    25 67 16 80 396 0 396 312 332 8 ps -m
   146 534 228 168 708 0 708 540 356 11 -bash
   227 124 212 324 1008 0 1008 708 548 19 wish
